Outdoor Training Resumes at Naval Tata Hockey Academy

Bhubaneswar (Reporters Today Bureau): After relaxation from lockdown, the cadets from Naval Tata Hockey Academy Odisha, have resumed outdoor training at the stadium following the Standard Operating Procedures as laid down by the State and Corona international guidelines for players. Led by Head Coach, P. Laxminarayan, a team of 23, has been undergoing complete physical assessment and lab tests, performance management and analysis at Abhinav Bindra Targeting Performance.

Currently, the team is training in small cluster of five as part of the guidelines. In the coming weeks additional 5 members of the HPC will rejoin the team.

The Hockey High Performance Centre which has been set up by Government of Odisha in a unique partnership with Tata Steel and Tata Trusts to boost Hockey, functions as a National Academy with a focus on Odisha as the state has abundance talent at grassroot level. It has 18 cadets from Odisha, 5 from Jharkhand, 2 from Assam, 1 from Punjab, 1 from UP and 1 from Manipur which makes it 28 with max capacity of 30 girls.
