Asian Continental Chess Championship: Padmini Rout wins

Philippines: International chess player Padmini Rout from Odisha clinched the Asian Continental Chess Championship title in the Philippines.

Padmini won the title by securing 7 points from a total of 9 rounds. With this victory, Padmini qualified for Women’s World Chess Championship scheduled to be held in 2020.

On Sunday, International master Padmini drew her round 8 against Vietnam master after leading with 6 points on Saturday clash.

Padmini had won World Under-14 Girls’ Championship in 2008 and the Indian Women’s Championship for the last four years (2014,2015,2016,2017).
