Asia Rugby Championship: India beat Bangladesh, Sri Lanka

Bhubaneswar,27-10-2018: Indian Rugby team registered their second consecutive win as they defeated Bangladesh with 89-0 score line in the ongoing Asia Rugby Sevens U-18 Girls Championship at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. Earlier, the team had defeated UAE with 22-5 score line in the opening match of the tournament on Friday. After an impressive win, the team seemed unstoppable today. The team were then pitted against  Sri Lanka in their group matches and won  24-15 in a keenly contested game. Sweety Kumari gave a whooping performance and almost single-handedly steered the game to victory.

Five players from Odisha – Sumitra Nayak (vice captain), Soni Mandangi, Jemamani Naik, Lija Sardar and Parbati Kisku were part of the team that defeated Bangladesh.
